Sancho Sánchez Gil
Clarinet
Sancho Sánchez was born in Madrid. He began his musical studies with his father at the age of 6, who instilled in him an immense love of music as a child. At the age of thirteen, he entered the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid as an official student, finishing his higher studies in Clarinet and Chamber Music at the age of 18 with the great maestro Vicente Peñarrocha, with brilliant grades throughout the career and obtaining the Title of Superior Clarinet Professor.
His subsequent training is based on the completion of advanced studies with Spanish clarinetists: Toni Goig, Ramón Barona, Miguel Espejo, José Antonio Tomás, Enrique Pérez, Justo Sanz, José Luís Estellés, Joan Enric Lluna, and european clarinetists: Juliam Farrell, Angela Malsbury, Antony Pay (U.K.), Guy Deplus, Michel Arrignon, Jean Louis Sajot, Silvie Hue (France), Henri Bok, (Holland) Hedwig Swimbergue, Walter Woeykens (Belgium), Yehuda Yilad (USA), etc. Each of whom brings wisdom and technique to his extensive training. He was also awarded a scholarship in 1992 as a member of the wind quintet of the Youth Orchestra of the Community of Madrid to take the European Chamber Music Course “Stage” in Torrebonica (Barcelona) where he received classes from the prestigious English wind quintet “Albion”.
At the age of 16, he won the position of Principal Clarinet for the Professional Music Band of the Parque de Atracciones de Madrid, at 17, won the position of principal clarinet of the Community of Madrid Student Symphony Orchestra (current Youth Orchestra of the Community of Madrid), as a founding member. At 21 she obtained a teaching position at the Open Classroom of the Community of Madrid. Shortly after he was placed on the list of Reserve Clarinet of the Youth Orchestra of the European Union. He also holds final auditions for the World Orchestra of Musical Youths. In 1999 he won the National Casting as Professional Clarinet Soloist at Universal’s Studios Port Aventura Theme Park. He has made recordings for Telemadrid, TVE and RNE (Radio Clásica), Intereconomía. His appearances on various television music programs are frequent.
